About this deal
McGillis's use of two knight blades at once while piloting his Graze Ritter Commander Type (which typically uses only one) might possibly be due to his idolization of Agnika Kaieru, whose fighting style in the Gundam Bael revolved around dual-wielding swords.
The Gundam Vidar last saw action during McGillis' coup d'etat of Gjallarhorn. After understanding McGillis' reasons behind reforming Gjallarhorn and revealing his true identity as Gaelio Bauduin, Vidar challenged him to a duel but was interrupted by Mikazuki Augus in the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex. After a brief battle against the Barbatos Lupus Rex using the Alaya-Vijnana Type-E, Vidar retreated to the Arianrhod Fleet's flagship where Gundam Vidar's armor and third Ahab Reactor were removed and retrofitted into the ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Vidar. McGillis can be considered as an inversion of the "Char Clone" trope to the Gundam franchise; while most Char Clones dons aliases while affiliating with the enemy faction of their series, McGillis has already sided within the enemy faction in his true name and use his alias to support the protagonist. Gaelio is a smart inspector and is able to put together pieces of puzzles when working with McGillis. As a mobile suit pilot, he is also excellent and highly skilled, and in MS battles, he is good at high-speed maneuvering and hit-and-run tactics with assault spears. Although he may tend to be impulsive as a pilot, he can still surprise the enemy at times, such as when he grabbed Mikazuki Augus' Gundam Barbatos with the wired claw of his Schwalbe Graze and tried to drag him down. In his Gundam Kimaris and later the Gundam Kimaris Trooper, Gaelio was capable of holding his own against Mikazuki, despite latter's use of the Alaya-Vijnana.One month later, Julieta accompanied Rustal to a meeting of the Gjallarhorn's Seven Stars regarding the Mobile Armor incident. After the meeting, the pair were stopped by Iok who is enraged that Rustal didn't denounce McGillis for what happened on Mars. This causes Rustal to chide Iok for losing sight of their objective, and then he leaves with Julieta. As Rustal and Julieta turn around a corner, she requested to be the test pilot of the new machine. Initially, Rustal is hesitant but relents when she insisted that this is what she wants. She expressed her wishes to be the sharpest sword that Rustal can rely upon in the future, thus she desires the potential strength from the new machine. Before leaving, Rustal tells her that he believes that she's already strong enough and that he has different expectations for her.
While mourning the loss of Crank, Ein would meet and befriend Gaelio Bauduin who, despite his noble standing, treated Ein as an equal. Ein appreciated Gaelio's kindness and while he was still dedicated to revenge, he swore to give his all to his new friend. True to his word, Ein was severely injured protecting Gaelio and eventually underwent the Alaya-Vijnana surgery himself to gain an edge against Tekkadan so that he could avenge Crank. Unknown to Ein and Gaelio, they were just pawns in McGillis's plan.

Julieta later requested to be the test pilot for the new Mobile Suit. Rustal is hesitant about allowing her to do, but relents and agrees to it. He then reminds her that she's already strong enough in his eyes and that he has a different path envisioned for her. This shows that Rustal seems to view her as more than just a tool despite that being what Julieta wishes to be for him.
