About this deal

While the less hostile party, Oakley cannot stand Quinton's jabs at his family ties to the sport or Quinton's hot temper that aggravates just about everybody.

When I say I love a good hockey romance I mean it but then you add in a dash of hate and a bit of the C. The beginning is definitely a little slower paced than I’m sure some readers would want, BUT it also sets the story up for later conflicts so while it’s not favorable, it’s definitely necessary in my opinion.Clawing under my skin is his favorite pastime, only feeding the animosity between us as the years pass. This is not the case here, and a big chunk of the plot has to do with their hockey season and them playing games. Overall, this was an enjoyable book, but I probably won’t prioritize the next book in the series on my TBR (unless it’s the roommate’s book). Narration: Everyone and their uncle knows I was one of the witches at home casting spells to bring Mr Fox back into this gig of narrating books.

Fries my nervous system, short circuiting my brain enough to make our rivalry seem like a thing of the past. The only thing we can agree on is hockey is our true love, and we’ll do whatever it takes to come out on top. The “Betrayal” Wasn’t Entirely One’s Fault…So the big third act breakup involves an act of “betrayal” and that’s all I’ll say about that, but part of me always felt like one kind of unfairly put more blame on the other when the other couldn’t fully even control that what happened had actually happened. They are hockey players in college who are forced to play alongside one another, which is proving quite difficult due to their intense animosity that originates from high school. And the reason I know that is because you keep tossing Braxton’s name at me like you’re not equally at fault here. All those feelings of hate and aggression both Quinton and Oakley have had for years are finally starting to wain and what is left behind are feelings neither one of them ever expected to feel. Iced Out tells the story of rival ice hockey players, Oakley Reed and Quinton De Haas as they're forced to play on the same team. I understand needing to wrap everything up in a bow but it was such a “this would never happen in real life” type thing and this book wasn’t a fantasy so it seemed out of place.

I forgot to review this and it’s been a week 🤷🏻‍♀️ sooo if it’s a mess don’t hold it against me 😂 This book is a perfect example of how an author can take a trope we see over and over again and make it feel brand new. The characters the characters were not bad, just also not great, I feel like they could have been much more with only a little more, Quinton's character is already interesting and attractive, to readers. Although, I must confess that there is a really big character development in him and you can appreciate it, throughout the story.

No matter how annoying 75% breakups are, it’s all about how the other person makes up for it and this was done super well as there was just no denying how much Oakley loved Quinn and it had been there all along. Tensions are high with this constant losing streak they have going on and when Quinton's career in hockey is put on the line, he becomes almost unbearable, and Oakley is getting sick of it. So there I was, firmly expecting to be underwhelmed, when at some point, I actually began liking it. I also loved how thoughtful Oak was with Quin; he made sure to include him in his family and listened to him when Quin didn't have a shoulder to lean on. quinton and oakley have been rivals on the same team since high school and four years later, their feud is as bitter as ever but now their team is tanking the season.

secs to accept that he is, in fact, bi, and to start chasing (and falling for) Oak, who proved to be the reluctant one here. in the very beginning of the book, oak and a friend of his—whose name i forgot—were complaining that quinn was captain. It’s more of a sketched style of artwork, the linework messy but the shading and depth created in it is impeccable.
