About this deal

Scott Stuart w „Mój cień jest różowy” opowiada - z perspektywy małego chłopca - historię iście oświeceniową - uczącą, bawiącą i się rymującą. The boy’s pink shadow, though, is his very being, and he must learn to love it and live with it and go back to school proud of his different-ness.

Why did she have a blue shadow (which is fine, but really highlighted the fact there was only one pink shadow in the book)? The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. The story, My Shadow is Pink by Scott Stuart, is shared and children discuss the events before going on to offer advice to the main character. Det er en fin fortælling om kønsudtryk, kønsidentitet og at følelser, interesser og evner ikke hører til bestemte køn.

I love the way the author relates a universal matter to all children helping them understand that color has no gender. The dad proceeds to talk about gender and the breaking of gender roles because everyone is different; it doesn't matter if they are a boy or a girl, they can do anything. His books have appeared on numerous best-seller lists, as well as being shortlisted for ABIA Children’s Book of the Year and CBCA Notable Picture Book of the Year.

I do feel, however, that the dual themes could be a little confusing as the main character has such a fully pink shadow. His empowering messages have been seen over 100 million times on Social Media, and he is a leading voice on fully accepting and empowering our children, exactly as they are.I bought this story for my 4 year old little boy who loves to dress up in a tutu or dress and loves his Frozen water bottle. Our youngest son also loves the story, and it's brilliant giving him exposure at an age where he doesn't understand the depth of meaning, so that he can hopefully grow up without the societal gender constructs/mindset/opinions of previous generations. Dad is really worried now, and when the lad gets to school, the other children are shocked at the sight of a boy in a dress. The theme is really a dual one – one of accepting that people can live happily in their own shadow and also share interests that are not usually part of that shadow, and the other that there are those whose shadows may never match the gender assigned to them, and that is fine too.
