About this deal

You can expect the same great things from Glorious, solid build quality, multiple material and colour options and an overall solid offering. Finalmouse should be heavily credited for contributing to the holey, ultralight craze. The Ultralight 2 is the latest mouse from the enigmatic mouse brand and caters to gamers that prefer small mice, it’s fitting that Finalmouse has the lightest gaming mouse on the market. There are some quality control concerns with Finalmice, some people have had scroll wheels break or have creaky weak points in the shell. The sensor also only runs at 500 hz. I am also not a rage gamer either.. I take care of my peripherals well and I do not slam my mouse down or throw it around or anything.. so some of these cons are really just due to bad build quality and not from personal usage. Glorious improves on their original Model O with improved build quality and shrunken down shape made for claw and fingertip grips.

This is a great mouse, it has a fantastic shape with a soft touch plastic that’s nice texturally and strong structurally. The cable is the best cable I’ve experienced out of the box. All buttons and scroll wheel feel fantastic. CoolerMaster’s entry into the ultralight space is a big win. The MM71o came in with a good original shape in the sea of shape clones.

Build quality was very good when I first got my hands on it. Overall no creaking, no flex, slight mouse button wobble, slight side button wobble, and side button rattle (if I shook it like I wanted it dead). Crooked scroll wheel on my copy as well. It never bothered me but it was definitely one of those "seriously?" things at this price point. A lot of these were basically "meh" things, but in collection together it does reduce how much I liked it. I'll be giving two scores for the Finalmouse. One when I received and started playing with it, and then one after heavy-use (right now) like so: This mouse creaks a lot. It isn't quite as bad as the creaking on like the aerox 3 wireless... but this mouse still definitely creaks. There is a visible gap between the metal sides and the plastic bottom plate. When squeezing the sides of the mouse even just a bit, you can push the sides in until they touch the bottom plastic plate. You can feel it creak in your hand a bit and you can feel the walls push in. Again, this is the medium sized starlight-12, I can't say for certain if the small is the same. I imagine with a smaller more compact design, that could lead to it being a little more sturdy. The medium does seem to have this issue though. Starlight-12 (M) review after heavy-use + Mods A detailed Starlight-12 (M) review after heavy-use + Mods

The side buttons are phenomenal. Seriously... they are. They are light, crispy have a good size and feel, and are positioned in the best possible spot on the side of the mouse. You can differentiate between them easily as well. Gotta be up there with some of the best side mouse buttons of all time for sure. Little bit of post travel but that is a super minor complaint for how well these feel and I've used a lot of mice to compare. It is very lightweight wireless. This isn't a pro for everyone since some people enjoy heavier or middle weight mice more and that is fine. If you are looking for ultra light mice though, especially in wireless, this weight is impossible to beat for now. Somewhere around 45g weight for the medium. The Viper Mini does a good job of shrinking down the OG Viper shape, making it a great ambidextrous mouse for claw and finger tip grips. The Viper Mini sheds its grippy skin from the bigger Viper,

Overall, the mouse has substantially improved since doing these mods. In particular, I highly recommend the corepad grips. If you dislike holes on the side of your mouse, these remove the holes, give you incredibly good grip, look nice, and are easy to install. Plus, the extra control and consistency they give you is a massive bonus. I'm not going to give the shape a rating because people will know their own preference. I fingertip and compared to the Delux M800, it has a much more flat shape similar to the Razer Viper Ultimate. I definitely like this mouse more than the RVU, both for weight, feeling, and shape for me. In comparison to the other mice I've tried, I'd say it's my second favorite fingertip shape to date only beaten by the G305. Nothing special to write home about, though. All the positives of the mouse come at a significant cost, while the UL2 is one of the best mice I’ve used, I’m not sure if the price justifies it, it’s also very hard to find. The mouse itself has a sensor that only runs at 500 hz. On the flipside, if inconsistent feeling buttons are likely to bother you, it might be better to shell out a bit more budget to get everything you want. Another minor complaint is that it is micro usb and not usb-c. Not a big deal for most, but again worth noting.I have no idea how the internals of a mouse work or how the sensor works... but if I had to guess, I feel like the sensor isn't getting enough power to it sometimes? Maybe the battery they use is just cheap or something and the sensor isn't receiving the power it needs properly. I don't know, but I don't have this issue on any other wireless mouse I own. This is pure speculation however as I said, I don't really know how it works. I should also note that I keep my mouse turned on all the time and I charge my mouse every single day when I go to bed at night so it shouldn't be a low battery issue. https://preview.redd.it/3z4uc65c53j81.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ff5f652d0ca5bdbd8750de94aef6a59482222d0 I ended up doing a couple of mods on the mouse to see how it would change. You can open up the mouse via the bottom two feet and removing two T5 screws, so the mods I did include: Not everything is perfect, it seems like button debounce is high and there’s a good amount of pre-travel on the primary buttons. The battery indicator is also kind of off.

The lightest mouse from Razer, the Viper Mini, is a mouse that doesn’t rely on the honeycomb pattern to achieve its lightweight. First I will start with the positives of this mouse and get to the long list of gripes and shortcomings of it later. Previous mice repertoire includes: G305, GPX, Razer Viper Ultimate, Delux M800, Deathadder Elite, Starlight-12 (S) Now this is where things get iffy. Finalmouse uses a T5 Torx screw, and by god these are some of my least favorite screws in existence. I understand that they were used for weight purposes, but these screws are some of the easiest to strip screws ever. After doing my first set of mods with the aluminum tape in the mouse, I ended up stripping one of the screws because of how small they are, meaning I can no longer open up and mod my mouse. For most people, it may not be of worry, but for enthusiasts, this is a major let down. Also, because of how the T5 screw is placed, it is VERY difficult to get out once stripped. A massive bummer because if this mouse ever breaks, I'll have to send it for an RMA or do some serious shenanigans to fix it - which is not something you want to be doing for such an expensive product. There are some concerns with quality control of the shell and gaps, the buttons and scroll wheel have shown some wobble. He's been reviewing gaming peripherals for almost a decade and has reviewed hundreds of mice, keyboards, controllers and other gaming peripherals. To no one's surprise, this mouse was a let down. My overall impression of the mouse has been getting lower and lower, and although this mouse is perhaps my best performing mouse at the moment, it says a lot when I'm looking more forward to finding a better mouse, than continuing to use this one (Viper Mini Ultimate anyone?). Yes, I've put a lot of hours into this mouse, but for being a "mouse that will last generations," the generation that this mouse is lasting seems to be awfully short. For anyone looking for a palm grip ultralight, the MM710 should be a consideration given its round shape. The mouse is built solidly, with a great cable and materials, for the price it’s incredible value. The shape is pretty good. This is very subjective but I believe most claw grip players would enjoy this shape as it is fairly comfortable for that grip style. Keep in mind this is the medium size, I have not used the small. I would say that the size of the medium is good for me with medium sized hands, the small would be hand-cramp inducing for me for sure.
