Stalking the swampy jungles of Jargono, the deadly Swamp Raptor is one of the creatures most feared by tribal natives and Serpentmen alike! Works really well as a solo game. Even with one character: you'll be failing missions a lot, but you are more likely to get an interesting injury and a story to tell than you are to die. When I unboxed the game, I hadn't separated the counters or cards, so the first part of our session was spent doing that and is what led to the advice given above in the Off The Shelf section. Having too many powerful items on-hand may cause the heroes to gain too much corruption which then triggers mutations. A samurai could be built as a heavy hitter or as a defensive tank and there are so many choices to make that you can almost never replicate the same adventure twice.The game comes with 2 booklets: the core rulebook and the adventure book. The adventure booklet you’ll be referring to for character developments and plot points that appear during your adventures into the deep of Brimstone. Both booklets are beautifully done and in full color and have excellent images throughout.

There is a lot of game here. The core set has hundreds of cards, enemy sheets, town sheets, hero cards, items, spells, artifacts, exploration cards and many more.After we beat the last Oni, the Assassin rushed across the map, and removed an Acidic Tentacle with a critical hit. The Sorceress and the Monk then completed an incredible combo. The turn before the Sorceress had cast a spell turning one of the tentacles into a bomb, so when the Monk through his own bomb and detonated that Tentacle, the chain reaction then removed another two, it was then a simple matter of removing the last 2 to complete the quest and find the survivors. The goal is to venture down into the mines to collect valuable darkstone and survive, without being maimed, killed, or driven insane by the horrors that await in the depths.
